I've actually never participated in NaNo before. I think this will be the year I try! I didn't even realize that writing is what I want to do with my life until earlier this year. I've always been a writer at heart but I never considered myself as one. Would anybody mind filling me in on the basics of NaNo? I'm really excited to participate this year but I'm not sure what the rules are. Thanks!

RE: Crafting a World - How?
Thanks for the tips, guys! I appreciate it. I'm going to try to do some research into world building. I think I'll start off small and use a place that I'm familiar with in order to get an idea of how to best describe the setting. Like y'all said, I think the best option would be to read how others describe settings and work off of their descriptions. Thanks so much!
Crafting a World - How?
How do you create the world in which your characters live? I have never had any luck with this part of the process and it's so frustrating. I have these amazing ideas but I don't know how to develop the world that my characters populate. I have no clue how to even begin to describe the places, the shops, the streets, none of it. I get stuck here and I don't know how to progress.
RE: Super Villain Boot Camp: Where baddies go to shape up
I tend to write my 'villains' more like anti-heroes. I try to view their perspective as if they were the protagonist. It helps me to see it from this perspective because it makes the writing feel more real. If you can view your antagonist's reasoning and understand what has driven them to become what they are, you'll write them from a much more personal source.
